Martin Chmelař

Sculptor, designer and restorer.

An artist from the Czech Republic who has been working since childhood. His works can be seen as distinctive monuments and at the same time small works that have already captured the attention of the professional and lay public both at home and abroad. We find such unconventional artistic work that is accessible to all of us. Sculptures carved out of stone, works in bronze or concrete objects are only a part of his work.

Martin Chmelař’s view of the world goes beyond the standard perception and reaches the border of controversial topics. One of them is the creation of funeral urns, where he touches on the sensitive moment of our departure and that of our loved ones. With his own delicacy, elegance and attention to detail, he makes it possible for people to celebrate life in the present and death, which he interweaves with the beauty of art.
